The A Better Cobb Board is excited to announce the launch of our new Founding Membership Program that gives you a chance to support our mission in making Cobb County more productive, resilient, and equitable for all.

When we launched A Better Cobb as a simple Facebook Group on May 2nd, 2022, we had no idea we’d be in the position we are in today. Over the past few months, we have formed our official Leadership Board, organized as a 501c4, and today, we take the next milestone by launching our Membership Program.

The Membership Program provides A Better Cobb with a critical source of sustainable funding that allows us to achieve our advocacy goals. We also think there are a lot of great benefits in joining as a Member:

  • Awesome SWAG including Stickers, Tote Bag, Water Bottle, and a hi-viz safety vest!
  • Invites to special events including our upcoming Launch Party!
  • Connecting to a community of other local advocates
  • Access to educational resources and our Community Bookshare

3 Levels of Membership:

Advocate: $3 per month ($30 per year)

Benefactor: $5 per month ($50 per year)

Champion: $10 per month ($100 per year)

Why are you raising money?

Great question. To be honest, after years of advocating as a grassroots effort, we realized that if we really wanted to see our vision of A Better Cobb in our lifetimes, we needed to get serious. To do that, we launched recently as a non-profit, and this funding will go towards our efforts in creating content, hosting events, building a network of advocates, and our research and policy initiatives.

Where does this money go?

We are still a new non-profit in the formative stages. Some of this money will go towards organizational and operational support, but the majority of funds will go directly back into supporting our advocacy initiatives. We will be transparent in our funds and will be releasing quarterly and annual reports about our spending and impacts.

When will I get my SWAG?

Once we get the necessary funding, we will be placing the orders. Our goal is to have all of the SWAG items at the Launch Party in late July. Due to logistics and costs, shipping will need to be handled on a case-by-case basis.

What is Zeffy?

Zeffy is the fundraising platform that we are using to manage our membership program. It gives 100% of the funds raised directly to our organization and gives you the option to support their platform as a separate line-item. We encourage you to chip in a little because that’s an awesome feature for small non-profits like ours.
